NRA BASIC COURSES

Pre-requisite: Participants must be at least 21 years of age.
Tuition: $75 (Plus credential fees to the NRA)
Length of Class: This is a 1- day course (9 hours in a classroom conducted by a certified Chief Range Safety Officer.)
Requirements: NRA Range Safety Officers should be experienced shooters, involved in many aspects of target shooting, training, and range supervision. The NRA encourages active shooters to learn more and become responsible for the safety of fellow shooters through this program.
Description: This NRA course is designed to prepare individuals who possess basic firearms knowledge to run a live fire range, indoor and outdoor ranges are covered. Upon completion of this course students will become NRA certified Range Safety Officers. Certified Range Safety Officers are required for all Boy Scouts of America shooting events, NRA sanctioned shooting competitions and events, as well as many other shooting events and practically every commercial shooting range and gun club. The topics covered are:
- The Role of a Range Safety Officer
- The purpose of Standard Operating Procedures
- Range Layouts and Limits
- Range Inspection
- Range Rules
- How to conduct a Range Safety Briefing
- Emergency Procedures
- Firearm Stoppages and Malfunctions
- How to properly control a shooter on the firing line.
All materials will be provided for you. You must supply your own ammunition for all range activities.

Length of Class: 1-Day (8 hours in a classroom and on the range conducted by a NRA certified instructor).

Description: The NRA Basic Pistol Shooting Course introduces students to the knowledge, skills, and attitude necessary for owning and using a pistol safely. This course also meets the standards to receive a CCDW permit in many states throughout the United States.The topics covered are:
- Pistol Knowledge and Safe Handling
- Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Pistol Shooting
- Firing the First Shots
- Scoring Targets, and Selecting and Maintaining a Pistol
- Continued Opportunities for Skill Development
